December 31, 2019, Day 45, A pneumonia of unknown cause was detected in Wuhan, China and reported to the WHO Country Office in China.

January 7, 2020, Day 52, China identifies new coronavirus as cause of the outbreak.

In an article “The Pacific commander, Admiral Davidson, ordered that ship into Vietnam for a port visit in a peacetime environment, knowing full well and having the intelligence, capacity, and capability resident in his command to know the jeopardy that he was putting that ship in,” he stated.
In an article – Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly appeared to worsen the situation when he gave a surprise speech to sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt and called ousted Captain Brett Cozier “too naïve or too stupid” to be a commanding officer of a ship like this, Reuters reported.

In an article I found March 31, 2020 the captain of a nuclear aircraft carrier, Capt. Brett Crozier, with more than 100 sailors infected with the coronavirus pleaded Monday with U.S. Navy officials for resources to allow isolation of his entire crew and avoid possible deaths in a situation he described as quickly deteriorating.
In the four-page letter to senior military officials, Crozier said only a small contingent of infected sailors have been off-boarded. Most of the crew remain aboard the ship, where following official guidelines for 14-day quarantines and social distancing is impossible.

Please read the entire article for the details. This is an example of someone realizing the responsibility that he has and doing what is necessary. The results may not be good but I agree that the outcome of saving lives instead of unnecessarily losing them is the less bad.

I salute Capt. Brett Crozier for his bravery and concern for his command. When resources are needed you get them!

I found the fallout article on April 2, 2020 The Navy announced it has relieved the captain who sounded the alarm about an outbreak of COVID-19 aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. I do not believe that the crew has lost trust and confidence in this captain. If he will do this in peacetime he will do what it takes in wartime!

Captain Brett Crozier: Standing Tall For His Sailors. Such send offs are not typical for officers who have been fired. The problem may continue. Admiral James Stravridis, a former commander of NATO, wrote in email to the San Francisco Chronicle, “we should expect more such incidents because warships are a perfect breeding ground for coronavirus.”
“What’s more, we are very concerned about the chilling effect this dismissal will have on commanders throughout the Department of Defense,” “Dismissing a commanding officer for speaking out on issues critical to the safety of those under their command, discourages others from raising similar concerns.” One does not rise to the rank of the captain of a carrier without playing by the rules. Crozier is an accomplished pilot and a naval officer. Crozier put those under his command first, and his commanders second. That is a choice that civilians would embrace. The first duty of a commander is to put the needs of troops first. He or she must, at times, put them into harm’s way; that is the nature of the military.  At the same time, putting them in harm’s way when not at war seems unwise.  Modly’s sacking of Crozier echoes the firing of his predecessor.

In the first article, the reporter writes It’s a classic case of the blind leading the blind, with potentially dire consequences should the drugs prove to be hazardous when used in this unintended way. and quotes Trump as saying “I feel good about it,” Trump said of the unproven drugs, which his own medical experts have said may not be suitable for coronavirus patients. “That’s all it is, just a feeling, you know, smart guy. I feel good about it.”  
In the second article it is reported that Trump grew defensive when asked about his decision Wednesday to activate the Defense Authorization Act, which gives him expanded authority for wartime emergencies, but not to use it to improve ventilator capacity at hospitals, shifting the burden of responsibility to the states.. I missed that activation thing too.  
We have lost the Responsibility for what we say. I am sorry that the examples given here are all from President Trump. Other posts point out BAD or MISS LEADING statements from many people trying to promote their cause or standing at the expense of truth and accuracy. We as a people have grown to expect this type of lie from everyone.  If we believe what is said it seems to be because  it promotes our view or cause or standing. Otherwise we just don’t believe it and leave it at that.
We hear or say: He didn’t know. He misunderstood.  He should have check. It’s not his fault.  So Sad!

From the second article. — Howard-Browne’s attorney took issue with the Hillsborough County “safer at home” order and the charges brought against his client, adding the county allows companies like Amazon to operate while shutting down churches. The attorney obviously does not use Amazon if he thinks they use Hugh crowds to make deliveries. I think that the 500 in attendance should be arrested and quarantine, at least, during the pandemic. It will be hard to keep 500 people 6 feet apart! maybe sedated!
“His reckless disregard for human life put hundreds of people in his congregation at risk and thousands of residents who may interact with them this week in danger,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said at a press conference Monday afternoon. “They have access to technology allowing them to live stream their services over the internet and broadcast to their 400 members from the safety of their own homes, but instead they chose to gather at church.”

In a time of crisis, people are fearful and in need of comfort and community.” They were not told close. No church was told to close! Were YOU told to close? Just don’t have a gathering for Church Service And On Sunday, Howard-Browne defended his decision to keep the church open in a video posted to his YouTube channel, claiming the building had the technology to eradicate any virus. “We brought in 13 machines that basically kill every virus in the place,” Howard-Browne said. “If they sneeze it shoots it down like at 100 miles per hour and it will neutralize it in a split second.” Then KEEP them there. Was that offered? Don’t turn them lose on US. It sounds like they have as GOOD as the hospitals but they don’t let you leave to spread things around. You cannot just visit. or can you? But some were offered a free bus ride. Were the machines on the buss? If they were infected before the service did the machine cure them? NOW That’s faith in a Machine!

‘It’s just despair’: Many Americans face coronavirus with no water to wash their hands. This is a quote from the online article by Erin Einhorn | NBC NEWS. “It should not have taken a pandemic to get them to realize that maybe no water in people’s houses is a public health issue,” one advocate said.
The city of Detroit shut off her water late last fall because of unpaid bills and a broken plumbing valve that she couldn’t afford to fix. Griffin, 55, was forced to rely on donated . . .”

Who is them and how did they force her?
I really feel bad that The Mean, Vindictive, People with the responsibility to do this to Her. She continues “Then the coronavirus hit. Governors and public health officials across the country ordered people to stay in their homes and — most importantly — (they ordered them) to wash their hands. But like millions of other people across the country who have their water shut off each year, Griffin can’t easily do that — and now she worries. . .”
As you can see, we have millions of other people who have no responsibility for their state of being. If the coronavirus had not hit, how did she and others plan to wash their hands?

I think that after over 60 years of having their Responsibilities taken from them it is time for a Responsibility Movement!

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that range from the common cold to MERS coronavirus, which is Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus and SARs, Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus.
Coronaviruses are named for their appearance: Under the microscope, the viruses look like they are covered with pointed structures that surround them like a corona, or crown.
Human Coronavirus Types
There are four main sub-groupings of coronaviruses, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. Human coronaviruses were first identified in the mid-1960s. The seven coronaviruses that can infect people are:

  • 229E (alpha coronavirus)
  • NL63 (alpha coronavirus)
  • OC43 (beta coronavirus)
  • HKU1 (beta coronavirus)

    With the pandemic on our doorstep The Rights of some people may cause problems with My Rights. I have the right not be infected by another exercising his/her right to assemble during this time of Social Distancing as an attempt to ‘flatten the curve’ of the spread of this pandemic. During the last 65 years or so there has been and still is a Rights Movement that has elevated many groups who were lower on the spectrum than should have been to a position on par with group(s) or even higher than the group(s) blamed for keeping them subordinate in the measure of rights. The Rights Movement has made memorable progress in this battle and this is not what may cause problems. Throughout the history of this progress in gaining Rights for numerous suppressed groups, a sister concept of Rights has been ignored. The concept of Responsibility has been completely missed. I remember that at one time in the history of speed limits, ‘Reasonable and Proper’ was actually stated as the limit in many locations. If Speed was such that avoiding an accident was difficult, it was deemed NOT ‘Reasonable and Proper’ and tickets for Speed were issued to all contributing in any way to the difficulty. They were responsible for the problem.

    The Obvious situation in Education started about this time also. Among the groups targeted to receive Rights from the Movement were Students. Students were given Rights, and as with all groups, they accepted these Rights with pleasure and humbleness of all groups facing a gift that they deserve. Oh, and by the way, ANY responsibility for learning or the results of the educational process were removed from the shoulders of any member of the group! WHAT, you say? Say it isn’t so! But yet ALL responsibility for the learning process in ALL our schools is on the shoulders of TEACHER. Not even school administration has held up a hand and waved high saying “NO, No, no, administrators have, at least, some of the RESPONSIBILITY for the educational process.”
    While all this was falling out of the back-and-forth finger pointing, the person with the most skin-in-the-game, the Student, looked on, saying “I am so glad that everyone has effectively forgotten HISTORY. Until now I have been responsible if any thing went wrong at school. Conduct, learning, following instruction, etc. ad infinitum, was on my shoulder. Now, with these new Rights, all responsibility is taken away. When I got ‘in trouble’ at school, I had twice the ‘in trouble’ at home when those in charge, PARENTS, found out. Don’t say a word and maybe no one will notice.” AND no one did!

    Every Rights Movement group unconsciously noticed this syndrome. Groups that really needed help and elevation of status fought a good fight and won their rights. Not a single group said “NO,No, no” don’t take my responsibility from me! LOL. Children got rights, were no longer responsible, parents were no longer responsible for their children who now had RIGHTS. ALL groups received Rights and by-the-way lost responsibility for their actions. Go ahead. Say it isn’t So! I Dare You.

    The world is in a state of wow.
    Convid 19 Here and now.
    Social Distancing is the phrase.
    Stand your ground and watch it rage.
    It should mean slow down, stay apart. Wait. Hope nothing happens and pulls you in. Don’t act stupid and spread this thing to ME! Help protect your neighbor by not being a link in the chain from victim to victim across the country and world. We are a global community after all. There seems to no boundary to contain the spread of this thing. SO we use the example of a fire break to make the jump to us harder by making the gap between bigger.

    So much for Social Distancing. When Seniors get something special, all the rules/requests go out the window. Seniors were invited to shop from 7:00am to 8:00am without non-seniors allowed. This was the second day. The first day had the parking lot full; no shopping carts available; and the overflowing around the corner.

    I realized that the store is closed but there is no evident demand for grocery store items. Hold your ground. Don’t group, stay apart. This virus cannot spread on its own. It must be brought to us from outside our group. The thing that IS the problem is IT spreads easily.

    The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. People are thought to be most contagious when they are most symptomatic (the sickest).
    How easily a virus spreads from person-to-person can vary. Some viruses are highly contagious (spread easily), like measles, while other viruses do not spread as easily. Another factor is whether the spread is sustained, spreading continually without stopping.
    The virus that causes COVID-19 seems to be spreading easily and sustainably in the community meaning people have been infected with the virus in an area, including some who are not sure how or where they became infected.
    Background that you may know:
    SARS stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. In 2003, an outbreak of SARS started in China and spread to other countries before ending in 2004. The virus that causes COVID-19 is similar to the one that caused the 2003 SARS outbreak: both are types of coronaviruses. Much is still unknown, but COVID-19 seems to spread faster than the 2003 SARS and also may cause less severe illness.
    MERS stands for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome. Health officials first reported the disease in Saudi Arabia in September 2012. Through retrospective investigations, they later identified that the first known cases of MERS occurred in Jordan in April 2012. So far, all cases of MERS have been linked through travel to, or residence in, countries in and near the Arabian Peninsula. The largest known outbreak of MERS outside the Arabian Peninsula occurred in the Republic of Korea in 2015. The outbreak was associated with a traveler returning from the Arabian Peninsula.
    People with Exposure to Camels
    The World Health Organization considers certain groups to be at high risk for severe MERS. These groups include people with diabetes, kidney failure, or chronic lung disease, and people who have weakened immune systems. The World Health Organization recommends that these groups take additional precautions:

    • Avoid contact with camels
    • Do not drink raw camel milk or raw camel urine
    • Do not eat undercooked meat, particularly camel meat
